Who we need

We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Assistant Principal - Curriculum Innovation to lead and transform our curriculum strategy. This critical leadership position will drive excellence in curriculum development, design, and implementation, ensuring our educational programs are future-focused and meet the evolving needs of our students and the workforce.

Key Responsibilities:

· Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the college’s Curriculum Strategy, ensuring alignment with national and regional policies and positioning the college as a leader in curriculum innovation.

· Curriculum Development: Lead the design of flexible and adaptable curriculum frameworks, integrating digital technologies and innovative pedagogical approaches to enhance student outcomes.

· Innovation and Improvement: Horizon scan for emerging trends in education and digital technology, ensuring the college remains at the forefront of educational innovation.

· Cross-College Leadership: Oversee English, Maths, Personal and Social Development, and Learning Resources Centres, ensuring these areas contribute to the overall success of the curriculum.

· Team Building: Build, shape, and develop a high-performance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation across the college.

What you’ll bring

The successful candidate will:

· Demonstrate proven success in managing cross-college curriculum teams and developing education strategies.

· Have experience in digital learning technologies and their application in curriculum innovation.

· Have a strong track record in quality improvement, teaching, learning, and assessment.

· Demonstrate the ability to lead high-performing teams and drive improved student outcomes.

· Possess excellent communication, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.

· Be a strategic thinker with the ability to translate ideas into actionable plans.

· Be inclusive and respectful towards colleagues and students.

· Have a strong commitment to continuous professional development and safeguarding.

New College Nottingham is a mixed, selective, non-denominational general further education college situated in Nottingham. It is a 16 plus with five different sites in the centre of Nottingham. The latest Ofsted report identified 14,029 learners at the school, between the ages of 16-19, studying a range of academic and vocational courses.

The college was established in 1998 through a merger of smaller educational centres in the Nottingham area. Further merging has happened, most recently early in 2017, when the college merged together with Central College Nottingham.

The college specialises in music and performance as well as excelling in its media and creative courses. It hosts a wide range of facilities to help its learners’ experiences, from a hair and beauty salon and art gallery through to a music venue and theatre.
