Job overview

Assistant Principal, Director of 6th Form

Salary: L12-L16 (£61,882 - £68,400)

Contract: Full Time/Permanent

Start: Easter 2024

A once in a career opportunity to play a key role in the creation of a new 6th form. This is a genuinely unique opportunity to take on a key role at the first ‘all through’ school in Essex, judged Outstanding by Ofsted in January. The Beaulieu Park School opened the doors to 60 Reception children in September 2018. In September 2019, another cohort were welcomed into the Primary School, together with 180 Year 7 students. The school is growing each year with a new cohort of entry. We are pleased again this year that we were oversubscribed with families nominating us as their first choice school. We will be heavily oversubscribed for September 2024 from Reception to Year 11 and will be opening our 6th form, which is a popular first choice for the majority of our Year 11 students. We are seeking to appoint an Assistant Principal (Director of 6th form) to join the Senior Leadership Team and to work with them to ensure the school continues on its incredibly successful journey. The role will begin at Easter to allow the successful candidate time to prepare.

The successful candidate will be an outstanding practitioner who has a strong record of enhancing the learning, experiences and personal growth of their students. They will be reflective, excited by taking risks, and accepting that failure is a part of the learning process. They will promote lifelong learning through their constant drive to improve their own practice, as well as supporting those they lead to develop their skills. They will believe passionately in the importance of education for all children, refusing to accept that disadvantage or SEND should limit ambition or potential. This role will suit an existing middle leader, with significant experience at KS5 or an Assistant Principal/Assistant Headteacher keen to explore a new challenge.

Specific responsibilities are outlined in the Job Description. If you would like an informal conversation with the Principal (on the phone or virtually), or to visit the school, please contact Mrs Baggott on 01245 943500 or email kbaggott@beaulieuparkschool.com

Closing date: Midday Monday 22nd January 2024 Interviews: Monday 29th and Tuesday 30th January 2024

Start date: Easter 2024
