Job overview

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, reliable, and versatile Assistant Site Manager to assist both our Site Managers at our two independent secondary schools in London NW6: Islamia Girls School and Brondesbury College, located within a short walk of each other.


The main duties and responsibilities of the role include:

• Assisting the Site Managers to ensure that the school sites are maintained to a safe, clean and secure condition.

• Deputising for the Site Managers as required.

• Acting as a key holder, assisting in opening and closing school buildings, including after-hours and weekends, and attending the site in the event of out of hours alarm activations. 

• Assisting with redecoration/refurbishment plans at the schools, particularly during school holiday periods.

• Helping to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, such as periodic fire safety checks, water testing, electrical condition surveys etc.

• Assisting with the internal and external maintenance of the school premises, including the grounds and gardens, and helping to supervise the cleaning the staff.

• Providing logistical support for school events, meetings, and activities.

• Supporting and contributing to the overall ethos, work and aims of the schools.

The successful applicant will be required to have:

• Substantial DIY and/or maintenance experience.

• An ability to work as part of a team.

• Good communication skills.

• A full, clean UK driving licence.


Appointment is subject to a DBS check at enhanced level.

Islamia Girls’ School is a semi-selective, Muslim secondary school without sixth form, situated in Queen's Park, north-west London. The girls' school is independent and, along with the boys' secondary school, Brondesbury College, is part of Islamia Schools Ltd, a subsidiary of the Yusuf Islam Foundation. Islamia Girls’ School provides up to 160 places for secondary students between the ages of 11 and 16.

The school was founded by Yusuf Islam (formerly known as singer-songwriter Cat Stevens) in 1989 to provide a well-rounded Islamic education whilst also following the National Curriculum.
