Assistant Subject Leader of Mathematics (TLR2A) 

Full time - required for September 2018

We are seeking to appoint an Assistant Subject Leader of Mathematics for September 2018. The position requires teaching and leadership across the 11 – 16 age and ability range, with particular responsibility for Key Stage 3 or 4. We envisage that the successful candidate will have a proven record of success as a classroom teacher and experience of leading at least one development within his/her current department. 70% of our students achieved grade 4+ in the 2017 GCSE examination series. Our most recent OfSTED inspection report (October 2017) highlighted many positive areas including the following:

“The behaviour of pupils in lessons and around the school is exemplary.” 

“Pupils’ attitudes to learning are overwhelmingly positive and pupils are eager to do well.”

We require a Mathematics Specialist who:

  • has a passion for maths and is able to make lessons relevant and fun
  • is eager to learn, develop, push the boundaries of maths teaching
  • has the personality to lead, enthuse and engage
  • possesses excellent ICT skills
  • is committed to enrichment/extra-curricular activities

About Davison Church of England High School for Girls

Davison Church of England High School for Girls is a mainstream secondary school in Worthing, West Sussex. It caters for girls aged 11 to 16 and has approximately 1,187 pupils enrolled.  

Davison CE High School for Girls was originally founded in 1812 by Reverend William Davison as a place for the children of the parish to receive a Christian education and is the only mainstream school for girls along the South Coast.

Morale among pupils and teachers is high at your inclusive school. Pupils we spoke to described the school as like a ‘big family’. Your staff share your vision and work very hard to maintain the school’s many strengths and to improve it further. There is a caring and stimulating ethos, which enables pupils to typically make strong progress and achieve well.
