We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, innovative, and committed Associate Assistant Headteacher to provide both day-to-day and strategic leadership for the science department, ensuring that teaching, learning, and educational outcomes are in alignment with the Academy’s strategic vision.


Key responsibilities


Reporting to SLT link, this post holder will be accountable for: 


  • Collaborate with senior leadership to integrate science into the broader school vision, contributing to whole-school initiatives that promote interdisciplinary learning and global citizenship.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership for the development and management of behaviour, curriculum, learning and teaching leading to strong outcomes within your area
  • Identify areas for development and improvement linked to the Academy improvement plan, SEF, national and local initiatives.
  • Develop and monitor curriculum plans for your area across the academy in liaison with your department and to ensure the successful implementation which meets curriculum requirements and scaffolded to reflect student needs.
  • Identify need, have an overview of and contribute to the planning and delivery of continuous professional development and training related to your area.


Pay range L8-L12 £59,167.00 - £65,286.00


Qualifications and Skills


  • Qualified teacher status
  • Degree in subject specialism
  • Ability to teach ‘good or outstanding’ lessons
  • Proven success in improving student outcomes
