Job overview
This role is offered as a permanent or one-year fixed term role, and it represents an excellent opportunity for an individual to strengthen our Attendance Team.
You will be an individual who enjoys working with spreadsheets, analysing numbers and reporting on them. You may be working in education and able to bring your experience to this role. Alternatively, you may be working outside education, but you have the experience and confidence to strengthen our team.
You could be a recent graduate who is not quite certain of your career path, but you have an affinity with numbers and spreadsheets and are willing to commit a year to this post whilst you determine which direction you want to go.
We want to hear from individuals who enjoy mainly working quietly and fastidiously but are equally comfortable in a busy school environment and are able to interact well with staff. We need individuals who are confident with numbers, data, excel spreadsheets; if these are your strengths we would like to hear from you.
You will be responsible for collecting student attendance information on a daily basis and inputting this into spreadsheets you have created to produce meaningful reports for Senior Leaders to act on. Monitoring student attendance is vital from a Safeguarding perspective, so you must be accurate with great attention to detail and able to work at pace when required to submit the daily reports we need to monitor attendance.
You will work alongside an experienced Attendance Manager and have the support of the Senior Pastoral Lead, Student Support Manager (Attendance) and Deputy Headteacher.
Positive relationships and a culture of high expectations of our students and ourselves are key aspects to the culture of our school and we are looking for people aligned to our values in all we do.
We are committed to delivering the highest standards and our staff are proud to belong to the school; we believe that Lowton Church of England High School is a great place to be.
Lowton Church of England High School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment.

About Lowton CofE High School
Lowton Church of England High School is a community where we are passionate about equipping young people to make a positive difference in the world. We are a vibrant and inclusive 11-16 comprehensive school of around 820 students, with an established reputation as a welcoming and forward-thinking learning community.
The Governors and staff of Lowton Church of England High School are committed to the provision of a high quality education in a Christian context. We aim to provide a school where we can live out our ethos of Caring, Learning and Succeeding on a daily basis and let our light shine. At the heart of the commitment is the notion of the uniqueness and infinite worth of the individual, that every person is valuable in the eyes of God and that they are, indeed, the light of the world.
Kieran Larkin joined in September 2020, with extensive Headship and school improvement experience, and has set about clarifying a mission-led, values-led ambitious curriculum vision that defines all that we want for our students.
Our ambition is not rooted in what an inspection framework is looking for, but comes from our underpinning Christian principles of caring, learning and succeeding so that every child regardless of their background or context will flourish, thrive and succeed in their time with us.
However, it is a reflection of our approach and commitment to excellence that our recent inspection - March 2023 - graded us 'Good' in all areas and recognised the strength of our vision, ambition, curriculum and leadership as a team. We do all that we do ‘through the lens of the child’.
We are a school on a mission – a Christian mission as well as an educational one. In fact, it is our firm belief that the combination of the two will have a transforming effect on the life of each child.
To learn more about the life of our school we invite you to explore our Facebook page, where we share daily updates about life in our school, read our website and visit us where you will be welcomed by friendly staff and polite students.
