Job overview
We are seeking to appoint an Attendance and Student Services Lead with personal qualities and skills of the highest order. This is a key role at the Academy given the national commitment and priority to improve student attendance. The successful candidate will possess professionalism, excellent organisational and administrative skills, collegiality and an attention to detail. You will have an ability to manage students, and will be able to liaise with Heads of Year and other staff and your colleague in Student Services, You will also work closely with parents/ carers to improve key students’ attendance. This work may also involve liaising with external agencies on a regular basis. Ideally we are looking to appoint someone with previous experience of working in a school
The main duties of this role are:
- Managing daily attendance; signing in late students, chasing registers and absence marks with staff
- Being a first point of contact for parents/ carers for attendance related matters
- Meeting with parents and carers to take a proactive role alongside the DSL and other key pastoral staff in ensuring student attendance is excellent
- A first point of contact for all student related support enquiries
- Administratively assisting in the smooth running of the Academy’s pastoral systems and procedures
- Deputising for your colleague in Student Services when necessary
