We have an exciting opportunity for a Beauty Lecturer to join the team on a claims, term time basis. In return, you will receive a competitive rate of £30.07 - £39.98 per hour, DOE (Unqualified teachers £23.80 – £30.07 per hour, DOE).

We are a high-achieving college who attract around 2,800 sixth form students across the region each year. We are based within the stunning New Forest National Park and offer our students a huge range of courses and superb facilities.


About the role:

As the Beauty Lecturer, you will teach part time Beauty Therapy courses to adults in New Milton.

You will be required to work 18.00 to 21.30 two evenings a week, term time.


Responsibilities as our Beauty Lecturer will include:

  • Teach on courses as agreed with the Head of Curriculum and the Assistant Principal
  •  Act as Course Leader, if requested.
  •  Prepare and mark student work, monitor progress towards individual targets, keep records, IV and provide timely reports/reviews to students, parents, employers and College managers, as appropriate.
  • Work closely with other colleagues to respond to the needs of students.
  •  Pay due attention to the principles of inclusive learning including: support for students with learning difficulties and disabilities; extension resources/activities for students of higher ability; general resources, including the use of Information Learning Technology.
  • Contribute to the design, delivery and future planning and development of the curriculum.
  • Contribute to the teaching/learning resource bank including e-resources for the relevant subject/courses.
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of developments in the relevant subject/course.


As our Beauty Lecturer, you’ll ideally have:

  • Level 3 Beauty Therapy qualification or equivalent
  • Appropriate teacher training qualification (or working towards this)
  • Excellent teaching skills
  • Able to manage learners and learning effectively
  • Able to develop effective learning resources
  • Knowledge and understanding of current developments in the relevant curriculum area
  • Effective communication skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Evidence of working towards and achieving personal targets
  • Good administrative and organisational skills
  • Supportive and positive approach to teaching/learning
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the colleagues
