We have good facilities, including sports facilities, and opportunities to teach across the age ranges. Our students are well behaved, polite and friendly. We enjoy excellent relationships between students and staff.  We also have two Provisions: one for Deaf children and one for children with Autism.

We are committed to staff development including leadership opportunities. We provide personalised programmes to all teachers, and we close early to students every second Friday to support professional learning. We take pride in supporting colleagues' well-being. Candidates should have excellent ICT skills and experience of working in a busy and demanding environment. Candidates do not need to have worked in a school environment before you do need to have a commitment to improving the education and life chances of our pupils. You will need to be able to show good interpersonal skills and a commitment to children’s wellbeing. This role offers an opportunity to play a significant part in our wonderful inclusive school community. It is essential that the person for this role is organised, able to multitask, work flexibly and have a ‘can do’ approach. 

Appropriate training and guidance will be provided for this post holder so that they can fulfil all aspects of the role.

Caterham High has been at the heart of the local community for over 60 years providing an excellent education for all young people that join our thriving institution. We are ambitious for our students, setting high aspirations in all that they do. Our home-school partnerships are very strong.  For students to maximise their potential, it is vital that parents and carers and the school work productively together. We use regular monitoring, target setting and dialogue with students and parents and carers to ensure students make good progress. There are many opportunities, formal and informal, for dialogue, which we strongly welcome.

We have an expanding and responsive curriculum aimed at enhancing choice and opportunity for students as they progress through the school from Year 7 to Year 13.  Our teaching is both innovative and challenging both in content and delivery, and ICT is used throughout the school to bring the curriculum to life and to stimulate and engage students in their learning. We make good use of our facilities (including the astro-turf pitch, pool, fitness suite and dance studio) and ensure that every child can be involved in the enrichment opportunities on offer.
