The Boarding and Pastoral Lead oversees students' welfare, safety, and well-being in the Global Enrichment Programme (GEP). The role includes developing and implementing effective residential and pastoral care processes, managing boarding facilities, and fostering a positive environment. The individual will appoint and manage house parents and pastoral camp counsellors, manage behavioural issues, and implement appropriate sanctions and merits when necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
1) Development and Implementation of Residential and Pastoral Care Processes
- Develop and implement residential and pastoral care processes to ensure the highest standards of care, safety, and well-being for campers.
- Establish and enforce policies related to boarding, pastoral care, behaviour management, and overall camper welfare.
- Ensure strict adherence to boarding and safeguarding policies across all camps, conduct regular audits, and provide training programs for staff.
2) Boarding Management
- Ensure that boarding facilities are safe, clean, and well-maintained.
- Allocate accommodations to campers and staff, manage day-to-day operations, and develop and implement emergency procedures.
3) Pastoral Care and Behavioral Management
- Provide leadership in ensuring the well-being of all campers, establish and enforce camp rules and guidelines, and oversee the implementation of behavioural sanctions.
4) Appointment and Management of House Parents and Pastoral Camp Counselors
- Recruit, appoint, and manage house parents and pastoral camp counsellors, supervise their performance, and provide ongoing professional development.
5) Medical and Counseling Oversight
- Supervise the camp’s medical team, lead and manage the pastoral counselors, and work closely with the medical staff to monitor and address campers' health needs.
6) Staff Leadership and Development
- Lead and manage the boarding and pastoral care team, provide ongoing training and support, and monitor staff well-being.
7) Communication and Coordination
- Serve as the primary point of contact for parents and guardians, work closely with other departments, and oversee crisis management protocols.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, or a related field.
- Prior experience as a House Parent in a reputable boarding school is required.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and proficiency in managing residential facilities.

Working Conditions:
- Full-time, live-in position during camp sessions with evening and weekend work and being on-call for any incidents or emergencies.
