Job Purpose

 

Provide outstanding provision within the Collegiate’s boarding community. Lead with ensuring there is a consistent approach to the management of the boarding houses across the Collegiate. This job description is written at a specific time and is subject to change as the demands of the Collegiate and the role develops. The role requires flexibility and adaptability and the employees of the Collegiate need to be aware that they may be asked to perform tasks and be given responsibilities not detailed in this job description.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Work with your BMT to ensure that the NMS and inspection requirements are at least met, preferably exceeded, and all evidence is collated and stored both in house and electronically 
  • Provide general support with the management of the boarding staff to the Head of Student Wellbeing
  • Support the Head of Student Wellbeing in the review and production of policies and relevant paperwork relating to staff management within boarding 
  • Support in developing the inset training for boarding staff 
  • Oversee the boarding development team for staff development
  • Ensure all boarding staff have a clear staff induction training programme
  • Ensure there are a wide range of relevant CPD opportunities for boarding staff
  • Ensure rotas for houses are fair and consistent
  • Oversee that there is a consistent approach to the running of the houses across the Collegiate in terms of routines
  • Oversee the staff supervision process and implement support as necessary
  • Take a lead with the welfare provision for boarding staff
  • Work with the rest of BMT on the production of a suitable Holidays@QE programme
  • Work with the DSL and safeguarding team attending meetings as required
  • Provide overnight cover as a DDSL on weekly rota

 

You will be required to attend inset training days throughout the year, these are notified well in advance and may occur at the beginning or end of a holiday period, these are included in your salary.   

  

Support for the Collegiate

 

  • Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health and safety, security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person
  • Contribute to the overall ethos/work/aims of the Collegiate
  • Undergo any training deemed necessary
