Job overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Contingent Commander to join our school. CCF is an integral and ever popular part of the School's extensive co-curricular provision and the successful candidate will lead and develop the School's CCF and contribute to the outdoor education offering.

The successful candidate will have acquired the broader knowledge, experience and outlook to inspire, motivate and manage not just the cadets, but also the staff and other adult volunteers; and will possess excellent organisational and administrative skills to ensure a high quality experience for all cadets and staff, as well as the effective management, use and replenishment of resources.

The role will require full-time hours during term time plus CCF training activities, camps and Duke of Edinburgh expeditions at weekends and during the School holidays.

St Edmund's School is an independent, co-educational day and boarding school with c. 570 pupils from the ages of 3 to 18.  The Pre-Prep, Junior, and Senior Schools are on the same green field site and are closely integrated using the same Chapel, music and art facilities, dining hall, science laboratories and sports hall.   The broad age range enhances the mutually supportive, family atmosphere that defines the school, where every pupil and staff member is known and valued.
