The Vacancy
Are you looking for a challenging opportunity, and are keen to give something back? United Learning Trust are seeking to appoint a Local Governing Body (LGB) Chair for The Albion Academy to lead the LGB and continue to support and challenge the Principal and senior leaders to bring out ‘The Best in Everyone’ through an education that develops rich knowledge and character.
The LGB chair is responsible for ensuring that the LGB functions effectively and will provide clear leadership and direction to the LGB, keeping it focused on its core functions. This is a vital role, setting the highest professional expectations for the highest standards of governance.
There are opportunities for training and networking across the Trust and there is an expectation to attend the termly Chairs’ Forum and the Trust’s annual leadership conference, and to support the Principal and senior leaders with termly performance meetings. The LGB meets approximately three times throughout the academic year and meetings take place in the early evening. All governors are expected and encouraged to visit the school for monitoring meetings and events.
