Working Hours: 32.5 per week
The Link School specialises in meeting the needs of 148 students from 4-18 with Speech, Language and Communication difficulties including autistic spectrum conditions and Pathological Demand Avoidance. In addition to the Primary and Secondary sites, it also has a satellite provision which provides a safe and nurturing environment for autistic young people who show demand avoidant profiles.
Situated in the London Borough of Sutton all three sites are easily accessible by public transport and well placed to draw upon a wide range of leisure, recreational and educational facilities having easy access to Surrey and London.
The school provides a warm, safe, friendly and nurturing environment, which helps pupils to learn, express their ideas, communicate, develop friendships and grow in confidence and self- esteem.

Due to the expansion of this work, we are looking to recruit a Primary teacher to join our team of teachers and therapists who would be interested and committed to helping us further develop our work for children with this unusual profile.
The ideal candidate
To be considered a real asset for this position, you must demonstrate:
• Outstanding practice within the teacher standards and have a strong understanding / knowledge and experience of working with children with special needs, particularly those with Autistic Spectrum Conditions.
• A desire to think outside of usual educational pedagogy to find workable solutions for children that have strong cognitive potential but require a highly personalized approach to their education.
• High emotional intelligence with the ability to lead a team of classroom assistants in teaching a curriculum based around student’s motivations and interests whilst supporting children’s emotional regulation through positive behavioral approaches.
