About the Role

Carroll College Broulee is seeking to appoint an energetic and skilled Classroom Support Teacher to join our highly professional and collaborative team of educators.

Our school wide pedagogy focuses on implementing programs to develop relationships, student growth, inclusion, and relevance, being mindful of the importance of becoming stewards of our coastal environment. Teachers at Carroll College develop contemporary learning and teaching strategies in a balanced approach to explicit instruction, high impact teaching strategies and inquiry learning.

The successful applicant will be committed to the Catholic ethos of the College aligning with the College vison, and will have a willingness to teach outside of their specialised subject area, including Religious Education.

Essential Criteria

The successful applicant will demonstrate:

  • Strong commitment to the College’s Catholic ethos and a willingness to foster it in the local community.
  • Appropriate educational qualifications and the ability to teach Religious Education would be an advantage.
  • Ability to combine specific expertise in particular disciplines or subject areas with a capacity to integrate curriculum, assessment and teaching practices.
  • Ability or potential to be an effective classroom teacher, employing a wide range of classroom strategies, including the integration of learning technologies and reflecting an understanding of current teaching & learning theories.
  • Evidence of an ability to foster within students a sense of belonging, community and connection in their learning. Demonstrated ability to fulfil the pastoral care and student management responsibilities of a teacher in the College.
  • Evidence of a high level of communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Ability and willingness to contribute to further curriculum and policy development.
  • Commitment to and active engagement in personal and professional development.

Applicants are required to submit a cover letter and current resume including a statement of suitability against the skills, attributes and experience as outlined in the position description.

This position involves working with children. The appointment of successful applicants will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for child related employment in accordance with CE policy.

This position involves work in a NSW school. The appointment of successful applicants is subject to compliance with Public Health (COVID-19 Vaccination of Education and Care Workers) Order 2021. By 8 November 2021, individuals who are appointed to a position in a NSW school are required to have either received two doses of COVID-19 vaccine, or have obtained a medical contraindication certificate in a form approved by NSW Health. Individuals are required to present evidence of either their vaccination status or a medical contraindication certificate to their school to be able to work in a NSW school.
