Job overview

Under the direction of the site supervisors, the postholder will undertake the cleaning of the school premises with the designated areas allocated. The postholder must ensure that areas are kept clean and hygienic to the standards of the school and in line with policies and health & safety.

Main activities:

  1. Cleaning including closure cleaning
  2. Sweeping, vacuum cleaning and mopping floors
  3. Emptying of bins
  4. Polishing and dusting of surfaces and fixtures and fittings
  5. Cleaning of changing rooms, toilets, showers, swimming pool area, classrooms.
  6. Replenishment of paper towels, toilet rolls and other disposables
  7. Safe use of appropriate powered equipment e.g. floor buffer
  8. Notify line management of damage to buildings, equipment or other H&S issues
  9. Inform site staff of matters requiring attention
  10. Inform site staff when low stock of cleaning materials
  11. Undertake training
  12. Additional one-off cleaning on occasions
