About the role
We are looking for a friendly and competent individual with some experience of cleaning in schools, hospitals or commercial premises
The successful candidate will be required to follow and adhere to a cleaning schedule to ensure that the premises are cleaned and tidied to the highest standard and to create a pleasant environment for both staff and pupils in the school
Replace/ replenish items if necessary to the role at the school
To be responsible for cleaning the school site as allocated by the caretaker
To keep designated area clean and safe for pupils
To vacuum all carpeted areas, wash or mop the floors of the cloakrooms and toilets in designated areas
To ensure that a high level of cleanliness is maintained throughout the school on a daily basis
All other general cleaning duties undertaken as advised
You will need the ability to work with limited supervision, be physically fit as the job will involve some lifting and carrying
Have an awareness to all Health & Safety policies and procedures
Permanent, 17.5 hours per week, term time 38 weeks worked

Able to communicate clearly, understand and follow instructions
Experience of undertaking general cleaning duties
Ability to communicate with a wide range of people
Ability to carry out general cleaning duties as detailed in the Job Description
Is punctual and reliable
Ability to manage time effectively to complete tasks to a high level
Ability to prioritise work
Able to work with minimum supervision or as part of a team
Ability to work both alone and within a team to achieve specified standards
Be flexible to changing demands of the post
Have an awareness of and display a commitment to the relevant legislation and guidance in working practices in relation to the safeguarding of children and young people
