Job overview

We are a disruptive school start-up, reimagining education that promotes human flourishing by putting relationships, personal wellbeing, and a strong connection to nature at the core of the learning process.  Our learning approach is grounded in and inspired by the Islamic faith, Emirati culture, and the Arabic language, based on our location.

We believe the world is a living classroom and we’re well positioned to advance a learning model that allows for real world continuous learning as part of our key purpose: to develop global stewards.

Join us in redefining education and empowering students to thrive in a dynamic world!

Role and Responsibilities

The Role is to leverage the power of storytelling by delivering amazing, imaginative graphic design products to inspire and engage our young learners, primarily focusing on developing the high impact visuals associated with each learning quest.

The main responsibilities will be:

·       Embrace and encourage the ethos, values, culture, and standards of excellence of the (Un) School.

·       Become embedded in the learning environment, either as a learner or supporter of learning.

·       Support all team members in the development of clear and cohesive narratives and create visual aids to support the ongoing storytelling about learning as it occurs within our organization.

·       Play a key role in communicating the personality and ethos of the school and what it means to belong to our community to the wider world beyond

·       Author, co-author or edit narratives that highlight how learning looks and feels in our environment for various audiences (community members, prospective employees, and the general public) through your direct experience of the learning process.

·       Create and curate an accessible multimedia archive that tells the story of our school from initial inception to the present day.

·       Create Badges of accomplishment which support learning outcomes and pathways that have been determined by our Learning Guides.

·       Manage and organize all media that is created within our organization, (including social media channels) and keep content updated on the web site.

·       Produce quarterly compilations of learning experiences which document and catalogue the school’s learning journey.

·       Support and uphold the agreed policies and practices of the (Un) School.

Requirements

We are looking to add to our team of brave pioneers by recruiting an exceptionally talented and highly motivated creative design genius.  This is by no means an ordinary communications role as it blurs the line between a teacher and a communications specialist, so you will be someone that is highly adaptable to switching between different roles and activities.

We are not about doing things in the way that every other school does. Unlike in conventional learning environments, our Comms Designer will be someone who is obsessive in becoming embedded in the learning community and this will take up a significant amount of your time.

Your zest for being involved means that you can feel the pulse of our organization so that you can accurately share what makes us unique in your perspective.

You will be inquisitive and want to become immersed in understanding every quest objective completely so that you can add real value with your passion for creative multi-sensory storytelling, specifically tailored to each new learning experience.

Your flair for innovation in providing magical experiences for children will also be complemented with your ability to keep your feet on the ground and show a healthy respect for meeting delivery goals and deadlines.

You have a natural inclination towards interacting with children, are fascinated with what they have to say, and it gives you real joy when your designs result in an enchanted audience of learners filled with pure delight.

Being part of a team is highly stimulating for you and you enjoy collaborating with colleagues to deliver best-in class solutions.

Being at home in working in multi-cultural teams is a given and you are comfortable interacting with all members of our community.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications, experience or skills:

·      Fluent in English and Arabic.

·      Advanced Skills in Google Suite, Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva and other relevant applications.

·      Experience of working with children or in child-centric environments.

·      Experience in Global Communications in multi-cultural environments.

·      Ideally you will have a relevant qualification, such as a degree in Digital Marketing.

We offer

The post offers the successful candidate:

·      The opportunity to work in an energetic and innovative environment that will help transform ideas about the form that education should take for the future

·      A collegiate environment committed to our children and young people

·      An international setting and experience in an advanced school model

·      An opportunity to be disciplined, creative and disruptive in building school models for the future
