Job overview
Are you looking for a new challenge? Do you want to be part of an ‘Outstanding’ school? Do you want to be a part of an innovative team transforming the lives of children in the heart of London? Do you value developing the whole child as well as securing them brilliant GCSE results? If so, Oasis Academy South Bank is the place for you.
Our Academy opened in September 2013 with 120 students in Year 7 and has grown year on year with our Sixth Form opening in September 2018 and our founding cohort completing their prestigious and exciting university courses this summer. Ofsted graded us as Outstanding in all areas, in June 2015, calling us “A school where no child is left behind” (Ofsted, June 2015). Since then, we have worked to develop and improve even further, embedding an exciting and challenging centrally planned curriculum and a clear and consistent behaviour management system which ensures that all of our young people get the education they deserve to go on and thrive in the world after school.
Through love, nurture and a rigorous academic focus, our vision is to support every child and help them to achieve their full potential, becoming model citizens and future leaders. All students are welcome with us, regardless of starting point, need or complexity. We are totally inclusive and believe that all students here will ‘Climb the STAIRS to Greatness’ and reach our two end goals of getting their dream job and becoming a model citizen. We are unapologetically ambitious for all of our students. We put in place support and stilts to help every student meet our high expectations rather than ever lowering the bar.
We know that a strong, united and dedicated staff is the most important lever for our students success so we place high value on staff development and wellbeing. We have three core pillars of staff culture that are detailed in the Job Description below. We also have a strong, centrally planned and well-resourced curriculum built up on the science of learning and protect co-planning, instructional coaching and department time each week to ensure that our staff can all get ‘a little bit better every day’.
We are incredibly proud of everything we have achieved in the last ten years: our dedicated, compassionate and hardworking staff team; our great outcomes and exciting destinations and most of all, the kind, well-rounded young people leaving us who go on to thrive in purposeful and challenging further education.

Ofsted report
“The academy has outstanding systems for monitoring and evaluating all aspects of its work, particularly students’ attainment and progress. The academy council and the Oasis Board are vigilant. They contribute extremely well to maintaining outstanding teaching and achievement. The curriculum is outstanding. It is underpinned by innovative enrichment activities which contribute to boosting students’ confidence and goals. Physical education is taught effectively off site because the academy does not have the facilities. Students have a strong work ethic; their social responsibility and pride in the Oasis community are particular strengths.”
