Kingsbrook School are recruiting for a cook/housekeeper to join their team! 


We are looking for passionate people, who can promote healthy eating and provide varied meals that meet the required care standards and contribute to the wellbeing of our Children and Young People. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting with the cooking within the school to deliver healthy, varied and nutritious diets for young people and the staff within the school. In addition, you will be responsible for making sure our sites are safe and comfortable, whilst covering all aspects of housekeeping and maintaining high standards of cleanliness in the school and will have a flexible approach and be able to respond quickly to requests for assistance.


Kingsbrook School is a small specialist independent school for 11–18-year-old students with social, emotional, mental health difficulties and complex learning needs. Kingsbrook School is a unique setting within a small holding.


This role will be working for 39 weeks of the year during term time. The role will be full time each day however the school are able to be flexible on the timings for the successful candidate, this is to be discussed at interview stage.

A Level 1 qualification or equivalent is an essential requirement, as well as previous experience preparing and cooking meals gained within a professional kitchen environment along with the following characteristics:

Kingsbrook School is a specialist residential mixed gender therapeutic school for students aged 12 to 18 years with complex needs. These include mental health and associated difficulties, for example, behavioural, emotional and social difficulties. Some of our young people will also have developed specific needs due to a range of factors including trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder or attachment disorder.

We support up to a total of 15 young people consisting of 7 day students and 8 individuals living in residential accommodation on-site at our children’s home. We are a Norfolk-based school, situated approximately 15 miles from Norwich City.
