Main Purpose of the Role

The main purpose of this role is to deliver effective Cookery lessons to a BTEC level. You would also be required to contribute and be involved in extracurricular activities and the wider life of the school community. This role would also involve the responsibility of overseeing the Health and Safety of the Kitchen, alongside the Cleaning Rota.

Person Specification Qualifications

  • A good undergraduate degree (Desirable)
  • UK Driving License
  • Food hygiene certificate level 2 (willing to work towards obtaining it)
  • Cookery qualification (desirable)

Experience

  • Some experience in planning, delivering, monitoring and evaluating cookery lessons
  • Experience in working with pupils who have SEMH / SEN (desirable)

Having clear rules and routines for behaviour in classrooms, and taking responsibility for promoting good and courteous behaviour both in classrooms and around the school

Having high expectations of behaviour, using our behaviour wave system accordingly to help support our pupils, embracing the culture of ‘catching our pupils being good’

Lead by example – show our pupils what we expect from them, positive behaviour and good manners

Maintain good relationships with pupils, exercise appropriate authority, and act decisively when necessary
