Rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted, the school is situated in a stunning rural location on the Berkshire-Hampshire border with easy access from Basingstoke, Reading and surrounding areas.

The school is looking to appoint a highly motivated and organised Cover Manager to arrange long-term and short-term cover needs and lead a team of cover supervisors. The team consists of three cover supervisors who deliver cover lessons when teaching staff are absent. The Cover Manager will also be required to act as a Cover Supervisor as required, to oversee whole classes during the short-term absence of the class teacher.

The person appointed will indisputably need to be:

  • Willing to share our values of Respect, Commitment, Ambition, Community and Excellence.
  • An energetic and organised individual with excellent time management skills..
  • A strong communicator and negotiator.
  • Experience of working in a teaching/child support environment is desirable but not essential as training will be given. The ability to build relationships with students is vital, alongside upholding the high expectations of the school.

The Hurst School is a successful and highly regarded school of 1000 students aged 11-16, situated within easy driving distance of Reading, Newbury and Basingstoke. The school enjoys a semi-rural location and sits on a large site with green surroundings.
