Job overview
The University of Kent Academies Trust is seeking dedicated individuals to join Chatham Grammar as Cover Supervisors. In this role, you’ll be responsible for supervising classes during short-term teacher absences, whether planned or unexpected. You’ll facilitate students’ learning by supporting pre-set activities, answering their questions, and managing classroom behaviour according to Trust policy. This is a permanent, full-time, term-time position, but flexible working patterns may be accommodated.
This position is not only fulfilling but also an excellent opportunity for those considering a career in teaching or transitioning from a full-time teaching role. Many of our Cover Supervisors have successfully moved into teacher training with the Trust, and we are eager to support you if you wish to follow this path.
To excel, you should be well-organised, confident, and a strong team player. While prior classroom experience is beneficial, it’s not essential. We value flexibility, resilience, good numeracy and literacy skills, and effective communication.
If you’re interested in a role that offers both immediate rewards and future career opportunities, we encourage you to apply.
Chatham Grammar offers its students a wide variety of educational opportunities with a commitment to ensuring that its students achieve good educational outcomes, develop healthy minds, and aspire to be happy, confident young women ready to embark on a variety of aspirational careers. In addition, the Trust will carry out an online search, once, as part of our due diligence on shortlisted candidates. This is intended to help us identify any incidents or issues that have happened and are publicly available online. The selection panel will then explore such items with the candidate during interview. The Trust’s HR Team or another member of staff trained in safer recruitment will use Google.com to conduct each search and no adverse judgement will be formed for applicants with limited or no online footprint.
