Welcome to Haberdashers’ Adams, one of the few selective state grammar schools in the UK. Located in Newport, Shropshire, we are a co-ed school with boarding for boys. We have a long and proud tradition of successfully educating generations of young people with a passion for helping our pupils to develop as confident, articulate young men and women who are interesting, balanced and who care for each other.
An opportunity has arisen, under the guidance of the Educational Support Officer, to cover teachers on short term absence. The post holder must have the capability of taking a class of students, year groups 7 to 11, in any subject, keeping good order and students on task. The post will also involve the recording and inputting of cover requests onto the School’s MIS system.
This is a permanent position, term-time only, 32.50 hours per week. (Core hours - 8.15am to 3.45pm Mon to Fri with 1 hour lunch break each day)
Actual salary: £17,180-£18,929, dependent on experience, FTE £23,601-£26,004

About Haberdashers' Adams
Haberdashers' Adams (formerly Adams' Grammar School) is a co-ed selective state grammar school in the market town of Newport, Shropshire. Founded in 1656, the School welcomes boys and girls aged 11-18 as day pupils, with boarding for boys.
Entrance to the School is highly competitive. The most common points of entry are via an 11+ examination for Year 7, or following GCSE exam results. Former pupils of the school are known as Old Novaportans.
