Job overview

We are seeking to recruit a talented and skilled cover supervisor who is able, with support, to deliver  lessons to whole classes (on average 6 students) in the short term absence of their teacher.  Someone who can build positive relationships with students to help guide their personal development and who can give clear, useful feedback to the teaching team after lessons so that the curriculum can be uninterrupted

As cover supervisor  you will be:

  • highly motivated, with a passion for education
  • have bags of enthusiasm, patience and perseverance
  • Be prepared to travel across our sites as needs demand. You will be based in either Oxford or Banbury and when not required to cover will be part of our student support team on that base.

Why work at Meadowbrook College?

  • Meadowbrook College staff are both professional and resilient. There is a “can do” attitude that makes a real difference to the lives of our students; many of whom have become disengaged with education and lost the confidence to achieve their full potential
  • We offer a variety of opportunities for ongoing professional development for all staff
  • We are working in an ever-changing and expanding educational climate where the need for alternative provision solutions is increasing.  Our provision is always adapting and new opportunities are always evolving.

Located across four sites in Oxfordshire: Oxford, Banbury, Kidlington and Abingdon, we are an Alternative Provision (AP) Academy that provides full and part-time education and support to over 150 aged 5-16 students who are excluded from, or are finding it difficult to fully access, their mainstream schools.

We offer all our students another chance and provide a high quality, safe learning environment in which to help them develop the positive behaviours and skills which they can use to improve their life chances. We work hard to ensure our young people achieve the best outcomes by creating individual educational packages which meet their needs and equip them for their next destination.
