Mulberry Academy Shoreditch has a fantastic opportunity to appoint a Cover Support starting asap on a fixed term basis.


Salary: NJC inner London Scale 5, £31,716 (actual paid salary to be calculated on a Term Time Only work pattern)

Contract: 35 hours, Term Time only, Fixed Term


We are seeking to appoint an experienced and proactive Cover Support to join our vibrant school team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who may also be interested in a teaching career but would like to gain valuable experience in the classroom first.


The successful applicant will be able to supervise students in class during short-term absence of the class teacher under the guidance of teaching/senior staff, including implementation of work programmes, managing pupil behaviour and assisting pupils in relevant activities.


Duties:       

  • Ensuring cover lessons are appropriately supported and monitored within the agreed system of supervision;       
  • To supervise whole classes, large and small groups as requested during the absence of teachers;       
  • To cover duties and other school systems as and when requested.       
  • Implement the academy’s behaviour system and all relevant school policies;


We expect that you will:     

  • Attain a knowledgeable understanding of the procedures and practices related to cover;       
  • Knowledge of, and ability to use a range of strategies to deal with classroom behaviour as a whole and also individual behavioural needs;       
  • Have the highest standards at all times to ensure maximum progress and outcomes for learners;       
  • Be familiar with and able to differentiate work according to individual needs when appropriate.
