SJH is an excellent school that has improved immensely in recent years and, as a result, has been oversubscribed for the last five years. Our ethos is for our students to strive ‘to greater heights’. This ethos is built on a core set of values, which underpins everything that we do. These are Ambition, Endeavour and Respect.

Our most recent Ofsted inspection was a great success and recognised the commitment of our staff to improving the College and securing the very best outcomes for our students. The College was judged to be ‘Good’ across all areas inspected. Inspectors commented:

“The school has a calm atmosphere where pupils feel safe. Pupils behave well so that learning is not disrupted. Pupils talk positively about their learning”

“Overwhelmingly, positive behaviours and attitudes to learning seen”

“The culture is all about learning, with a strong work ethos”

“Learning is the core of all that happens”

“Leaders provide effective support to develop teachers' subject and pedagogical knowledge. Staff are very positive about the support they receive from leaders. They are proud to work at the school. Those newest to teaching speak particularly highly of the support they receive. Leaders listen carefully to staff. This helps them manage staff well-being and workload.”

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and self-motivated Data and Systems Manager to strategically lead the school's Data, Exams and Cover Team. The post holder will work closely with the Vice Principal in helping to construct our curriculum and timetable models, maintain our assessment, mock and examination data, and be responsible for analysis and reporting procedures.

The successful applicant will work closely with different teams across the school to ensure these tasks are completed efficiently and in line with the various deadlines for the academic year. Confidence in using MS Excel and previous experience of school management information systems is vital. You must have a proven record of the ability to communicate effectively with people, be highly motivated, organised and able to use initiative to prioritise tasks.

We offer a state-of-the-art College facility which is equipped with an entirely new IT infrastructure, including touch screens and visualisers in every classroom. We pride ourselves on managing the workload of staff by offering a disruption-free learning environment, only three assessment points throughout the year, no lesson observations, no lesson planners and no book marking.

Non-teaching professionals at Sir John Hunt are key to supporting the educational and personal development needs of our students. We pride ourselves on developing both support and teaching staff, with dedicated training days to support their continued professional development.

We welcome applications from highly motivated and experienced individuals with the vision and ability to commit towards the department. If you would like to find out more about the College, please visit our website at: http://www.sjhcsc.co.uk/. We would welcome any potential candidates to come and visit the College during the day to meet the team and experience the learning environment for themselves.

An application form and further details can be found on the College website. www.sjhcsc.co.uk

 Closing date: 9.00am Monday 25th September 2023

Sir John Hunt CSC is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and we expect all staff to share this commitment. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974; pre-employment checks will be carried out; references will be sought for all shortlisted candidates and all shortlisted candidates will be requested to complete a questionnaire about any convictions or adult cautions that are unspent. Guidance will be given to those shortlisted.
