We are looking to appoint an experienced Data Manager to take a lead role in the development, implementation and maintenance of records/information systems and reporting relating to Academy data.
Key responsibilities:
Reporting to SLT link responsible for Data, this post holder will be accountable for
- Work with the Academy Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to develop information management strategies within the Academy
- Research, lead and develop the Academy’s information systems to ensure they are fit for purpose and meet evolving needs as they arise
- Manage the efficient transfer of data between the School and relevant external agencies and stakeholders
- Maintain the whole school assessment database and ensure data input is timely, accurate and complete
- Provide detailed analysis and evaluation of data and produce detailed reports/information as required
Pay range: SCP 25 - 28 £32,579.35 - £35,078.63 (FTE: £35,235.00 - £37,938.00)
37 hours per week, 41 weeks per year

Qualifications and Skills:
- 5 GCSEs including Maths and English (grade 4-9) or equivalent
- Comprehensive understanding of how to support colleagues to use student data to inform their lesson planning, target setting etc.
- Demonstrable experience of operating MIS systems
- Experience of collecting, collating, interpreting and disseminating a wide range of data in different formats

About West Walsall E-Act Academy
West Walsall E-ACT Academy is a mixed, mainstream, state secondary school in Walsall. It caters to students aged 11-18 and has approximately 622 pupils enrolled. The school boasts enviable sports facilities such as a football and athletics field, eight tennis courts, a heated swimming pool, a gym, a squash court, a large astroturf pitch and a sports hall.
West Walsall E-ACT Academy was originally opened in September 1971 as Wilfred Clark Comprehensive. It later became known as Alumwell Business and Enterprise College, and then West Walsall E-ACT Academy when it converted to academy status in September 2012. It is part of the E-ACT family of academy schools.

Vision and values
West Walsall E-ACT Academy works hard to deliver an excellent education to students of all backgrounds and abilities. Teachers aim to instil in every child the school's three main values: goodness, discipline and knowledge. Through creating a safe and supportive environment, the school hopes to demonstrate its commitment to equality as well as fundamental British values.
The secondary school pays extra attention to English, maths and science, and also offers business, drama, French, Spanish, ICT, PE and music. A STEM club meets once a week to help promote an interest in science and engineering.
