We are searching for a proactive and diplomatic individual to join our agile and fast paced organisation as the Data Protection Officer for our trust.

As a Data Protection Officer (DPO), you will play a crucial role in ensuring that we adhere to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other data protection laws, maintaining the highest stand of data privacy and security.

As our Data Protection Officer, you will be at the forefront of all matters related to processing personal data. Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Ensuring compliance with GDPR Article 37 mandatory responsibilities, such as maintaining the Data Protection Officer registration with the supervisory authority, supported by the required evidence. You will also ensure our Trust's Privacy notices contain accurate contact details.
  • Demonstrating expert knowledge of data protection law
  • Informing and advising the controller (AET) or processor (Third Party Suppliers) and their employees about their obligations to comply with GDPR and other data protection laws.
  • Monitoring compliance with GDPR and other data protection laws, managing internal data protection activities, providing training to data processing staff, and conducting internal audits.
  • Offering advice on data protection impact assessments (DPIA) when required under Article 35.
  • Working and cooperating with the controller’s or processor’s designated supervisory authority and serving as the contact point for the supervisory authority on issues relating to the processing of personal data.
  • Maintaining an Enterprise Risk Assessment related to personal data and personally sensitive data in the Trust Enterprise Risk Register.
  • Maintaining documentation to show that DPIA guidance is up to date and monitor PIA performance
  • Regular reporting to the responsible Trust Board Member on the current state and any change to the Trust’s compliance to the GDPR
  • Designing and providing training sessions, materials and workshops on the subject of Data Protection for stakeholders at all levels.
  • Maintaining all relevant policies and procedures with regards to GDPR and Data Protection.
