Day House Matron/Assistant
We are seeking to appoint a Day House Matron/Assistant to join our team from November 2024. The successful applicant will oversee the domestic arrangements for pupils within our co-educational Year 7 & 8 day house, with particular responsibility for assisting with pastoral care and contributing to the supervision and wellbeing of the pupils.
As a Day House Matron/Assistant, your responsibilities would include:
- Support the Day House Parents in the provision of excellent pastoral care for the pupils
- Be a visible adult presence and report any concerns to the House Parents, as well as be the responsible adult within the houses in case of emergencies
- Contribute to House registrations and notices and insist on high standards of both pupil behaviour and dress in-line with the School rules
- Liaise with the Catering Department to ensure breaktime snacks are distributed to pupils in the House across the week
- Arrange for repairs by notifying the Maintenance Department of any problems via the online maintenance system, and reporting those likely to involve student charging to the House Parent
- Monitor communal and study areas for cleanliness/tidiness, the stocking of House provisions and the promotion of an effective working environment daily
What we are looking for:
- Educated up to GCSE or equivalent
- Must be able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and discretion
- Must be IT literate and be competent in using Microsoft Office
- Previous experience working in a school or with young people (desirable)
