Job overview
Crown House School, a vibrant and proudly non-selective, co-educational day school, is seeking to appoint a Deputy Head - Pastoral for January 2025, following our current Deputy’s promotion to Headship within the Chatsworth Schools group. This is an exciting opportunity for an aspirational leader, with a very positive attitude, to join our thriving staff team and lead an outstanding pastoral service for all pupils.
We are looking for someone with compassion, empathy and excellent communication skills. At Crown House, we are defined by our high-quality pastoral care and our desire to tailor our teaching to meet the needs of every individual. We have small classes of no more than 20 pupils with a wide range of learning abilities. Our staff are highly supportive and caring.
Senior or middle leadership experience is essential, as is a collaborative approach to work and a proven ability to motivate and support others. Above all, we are seeking someone who, like us, views the ‘whole child’ in front of them, their wellbeing and self-worth, their attitudes to learning and their self-confidence, as much as their academic progress. For us, our culture is as important as our curriculum.
There is much to do, and plenty of opportunities for the postholder to bring new ideas and new ways of doing things. We are seeking an innovator and a solution-focused creative thinker, able to support staff as they work hard to meet the needs of every child.
Applications are warmly invited from candidates for whom this is their first Deputy Headship, as well as from more experienced senior leaders.
