Lilian Baylis Technology School is a mixed, 11-18, inner city school located in a new building at Vauxhall, London. We are a multicultural community school, which serves the local community, and we view this as one of our key strengths. We value the diversity of our school, and strive to ensure that our students feel represented, at whole school level and within the curriculum.

Our students are well behaved and ambitious, and they also value the school. All visitors to the school always comment on the calm and productive atmosphere of lessons. Our last OfSTED inspection stated that “behaviour is exceptional”.

In addition to this, we have outstanding facilities for our students and teachers, including electronic whiteboards and visualisers in all rooms, laptops for staff and students and a dedicated SEND area. Our students are well behaved and ambitious, and they also value the school. All visitors to the school always comment on the calm and productive atmosphere of lessons. Our last OfSTED inspection stated we were ‘outstanding in all aspects’.

We are seeking to recruit a Deputy Head to help lead us on our journey of sustained excellence, focusing on all aspects of staff development across all roles, so that everyone becomes the very best version of themselves and is able to maximise student achievement by providing our students with a world class education.

The successful candidate will be a key figure in leading the culture and ethos of our school, ensuring high expectations for quality teaching are consistently maintained. You will lead on systems, interventions, and staff development to secure excellent standards of teaching.

We want to hear from outstanding leaders who have proven success within a school leadership role. You will be highly motivated and passionate about making a difference to the lives of young people with the natural ability to inspire and motivate both pupils and peers.

The post holder may reasonably be expected to undertake other duties commensurate with the level of responsibility that may be allocated from time to time.

Application forms must be completed online by 10am on Tuesday 22nd April 2025. Interviews will take place on the week of 28th April. For an informal conversation or to arrange an informal visit contact Karen Chamberlain (Headteacher) on karen.chamberlain@lilianbaylis.com

The school is committed to safer recruitment practice and pre-employment checks will be undertaken before any appointment is confirmed. This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check. We are further committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and expect staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
