This role will enable you to play a lead role in shaping the futures of our talented students and is an opportunity for someone with successful experience of pastoral leadership to further improve progress at Ripley.
We are looking for a driven, organised and highly-skilled senior leader who has recent and successful secondary school senior leadership experience to join our team.
The successful candidate will be passionate about high quality pastoral care including the crucial element of removing barriers to learning for children such as those pertaining to attendance, behaviour and welfare. They will recognise the importance of the highest of standards and expectations and their core role will be:
- as the Designated Safeguarding Lead, to maintain an effective safeguarding culture and lead on strategic safeguarding across the school
- to continue to uphold high standards of behaviour across the school and lead Heads of Year to achieve this
- to lead on all aspects of pastoral care and welfare across the school including the leadership of the Student Support Team
- to ensure attendance and punctuality to school are good
- to line manage the Assistant Head Teacher – SEND to ensure that students with a Special Educational Need or Disability attend, behave and succeed in line with their peers
The successful candidate will be able to lead and develop the vision in these areas to ensure the best outcomes for our pupils.
The post will require you to work in collaboration with the other members of the Senior Leadership Team to ensure the continuous improvement of the school.
The successful candidate will have to meet the requirements of the person specification to be offered the post, will be required to undergo a full enhanced DBS check and must be eligible to work in the UK. ‘The Ripley Academy is located in Ripley, Derbyshire. The School was a founding member of the East Midlands Education Trust when it was formed in September 2014 and the Trust now has fourteen partner schools.
