Deputy Head Teacher
Location - Cherry Tree School, Walsall, WS1 4AB
National Teachers’ Terms and Conditions (including Teachers’ Pension)
Due to the incredible success of our outstanding sister schools in Cheshire East
& Staffordshire (Hopedale, Bluebell, Heather Field and Lavender Field
Schools), we are bringing our innovative services to the children and families
of Walsall.
Cherry Tree School is a brand new special school in Walsall, offering the highest
quality of education for up to 75 children (3-19) with a range of additional
needs.
We are passionate about finding a Deputy Head Teacher who will join us on this
exciting journey, enabling the school to grow and evolve in the way that our
sister schools already have.
Pupils may have social, emotional, mental health, and/or learning difficulties, and
may or may not be on the autistic spectrum.
We are seeking a Deputy Head Teacher who ‘just gets’ children, has a marvellous
sense of humour and who has the flexibility and determination to ensure that
Cherry Tree is the first choice of school for children, parents and local
authorities.
Cherry Tree can offer you:
- Wonderful, thriving pupils
- A happy, humorous and supportive staff team
- Excellent career progression opportunities
- The National Teachers’ Pension
- A high level of support from a very experienced team of Teaching Assistants
- Initial training for aspects of the role with which you are not familiar with
- The opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of pupils and their families
- A comprehensive on-going training package
We do not require an experienced Deputy Head Teacher, as the level of support
provided by the sister schools and the proprietors will enable the post holder
to develop very quickly. Thus, we welcome applications from ambitious Teachers
with middle leadership experience, Assistant Head Teachers, SENCOs or Heads of Year from Mainstream or Special, Primary or Secondary School settings, who are looking for something different.
The recruitment process is about finding the right personality with huge amounts of potential, who will be as excited as we are about developing Cherry Tree School.
Cherry Tree School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of
children. All applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening
appropriate to the post, including checks with current and past employers and
the Disclosure and Barring Service.
We are an equal opportunities employer.
Prior to the interview stage, applicants will be invited to visit one of our sister
schools to ensure that this is the right opportunity for you. Interviews will
last for one day, on the 28/11/23, and will be based in our sister school,
Heather Field School in Stafford.
