Working closely with the Head, the postholder will play a major role in decision making, will initiate and implement policy and will deputise for the Head in her absence. The postholder will ensure the smooth day-to-day running of PGHS and will take lead responsibility for aspects of pastoral, academic and administrative matters across the School. They will have the lead responsibility for the pastoral care and wellbeing of pupils, as Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), and through management of pastoral staff including the form tutors.

We invite applications from both primary and secondary specialists of any curriculum teaching subject. PGHS welcomes applications from those currently teaching in either the maintained or independent sector. Studies have shown that women and people from under-represented ethnicities are less likely to apply for jobs unless they meet every single aspect of a job description and person specification. At PGHS we are committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace, so we encourage you to apply even if your past experience does not align perfectly with every qualification or experience in the information provided.

The closing date for applications is Friday 8 November at 9am. Long list interviews will take place during the week commencing 11 November and short list interviews from 18 November. The school reserves the right to interview suitable candidates before the closing date so early applications are encouraged.
