Following a period of significant change Bishop Challoner Catholic Federation of schools are continuing to evolve and improve. The two schools will merge from September 2023 creating one co-educational school.

The school have undertaken a restructure of the senior team to better serve the new co-educational structure. As a result, the school will be recruiting three Deputy Headteachers and three Assistant Headteachers. This will create a senior team of five deputies and three assistant heads.

We are looking for a dedicated Deputy Headteacher to assist the Executive Headteacher in the strategic development across the School, creating a climate of learning where expectations are high, clearly communicated and consistently reinforced.

The successful candidate will a be a highly visible, collaborative and aspirational leader who will model the highest levels of professionalism and inspire, motivate and develop staff and students. Our senior team will Put the educational needs of the children at the heart of everything

The Deputy Headteacher - Catholic Life, Behaviour and Attitudes will:

  • Deputise for the Executive Headteacher in his absence
  • Lead and be responsible for the Catholic ethos of the school, including Collective Worship and Catholic life.
  • Prepare the school for a CSI Inspection
  • Be a senior leader within the school acting as a role model of best practice to colleagues, undertaking duties, attending school events and representing the school in a professional capacity.
  • Communicate the school’s vision compellingly and supporting the headteacher’s strategic leadership
  • Formulate the aims and objectives of the school in relation to Behaviour for Learning Strategies
  • Establish policies for achieving these aims and objectives
  • Managing staff and resources to that end
  • Monitor progress towards the achievement of the school’s aims and objectives
  • Promote the ethos of equal opportunities for all staff and students
