Responsible to Headteacher and Governors
Purpose of Job: To assist the Headteacher in the leadership and management of the school and in all aspects of school improvement, including taking full responsibility for the school in the absence of the Headteacher.
Dee Banks School is a special school located in Chester, which caters for pupils aged 2 to 19 years of age. Our pupils have severe, complex and profound learning difficulties with associated needs such as autism, communication difficulties and complex health needs.
Dee Banks School is a Good school (Ofsted 2022) and we take pride in working together to support pupils holistically, enabling them to develop socially, physically, emotionally and academically and to successfully prepare them for adult life.

We are looking for talented and highly motivated Deputy Headteacher; determined to achieve the best possible outcomes for our pupils, who will:
· Promote and demonstrate through their own practice, the ethos, mission statement, values and core purpose of the school in line with agreed school policies.
· To deputise for the Headteacher when she is absent from the school.
· To provide professional leadership which secures, in consultation with the Governing Body, the success and improvement of the school, ensuring high quality education and care for the pupils so that they are safe and happy at school, enabled to be successful learners and thus achieving high standards.
· To provide high quality support, motivation and appropriate challenge for staff, students and volunteers and other professionals.
· To provide high quality support for parents, carers and community members.
