Your role

An opportunity has arisen for an inspirational professional with outstanding leadership skills to join us from September 2024. You will take the lead within our heavily over-subscribed and forward-looking school for all aspects of the curriculum and teaching and learning.

This post is not suitable for ECTs.

Your responsibilities

With the current post holder stepping down from this role, an opportunity exists for a suitably experienced, inspirational and outstanding senior leader to take on this significant post holding responsibility for curriculum and teaching and learning. You will spearhead our drive to deliver an excellent quality of education to all our students and work with experienced and passionate colleagues in delivering this.

Supporting subject leaders with curriculum development, keeping up to date with Ofsted requirements and maintaining oversight of CPD for all teaching staff are key roles aligned to this post. It is essential that you can work effectively with others as the role requires collaboration with equally passionate senior colleagues around ensuring that teaching and learning is accessible by all students and consistently delivered in safe and supportive learning environments; and in ensuring that our quality assurance process remains rigorous, focussed and inclusive of student voice. Running the teaching and learning group, supporting the ECT, ITT and DfE internship programmes, and delivering various information evenings to our community are also crucial parts of the role.

You will need:

Required from September 2024 an outstanding professional with evidence of recent and sustained successful leadership at a senior leadership level in a secondary school setting. You will have a genuine commitment to collaboration and teamwork, recognising that working together enables the best outcomes for our students. You will have exceptional interpersonal skills, a warm professional rapport and a genuine empathy for students' needs. Excellent communication skills suitable for a range of audiences, a capacity to manage a significant workload and determination, resilience and tenacity are requisite personal characteristics.
