Monkseaton High School is a 14-19 mixed secondary school with a genuinely inclusive ethos.  We are proud to be part of the North Tyneside Learning Trust and have embraced the many opportunities this has afforded our students.  We are a smaller than average High School with a 6th Form; we have experienced a recent fall in demographics locally, however, numbers are now increasing.

Typically, we have a lower academic profile on entry than most schools and a higher level of disadvantaged than most schools nationally. However, this does not mean that any student is held back or disadvantaged, as is demonstrated in outcomes and progress made by all students.  The strong leadership, dedicated staffing body and the relentless drive for improvement across all measures, has resulted in a sustained upward trend of achievement consistently in line with, or above national.  Significantly so in the majority of threshold areas, especially when comparing to similar school contexts, ultimately ensuring that every student has the opportunity to thrive and achieve in our school.

Monkseaton High School’s vision is to create an inclusive learning community for all students, where it’s four core values of equality, opportunity, inclusion and achievement are implemented throughout daily life. The school believes that every child matters and nurtures students as responsible and active learners, encouraging them to work to the best of their ability and achieve their goals and ambitions. Students are encouraged to contribute to the wider community as active and engaged citizens and the school offers a wide range of extra-curricular incentives to help instigate this, such as the Duke of Edinburgh Award. Monkseaton High School wants all students to feel valued and cared for and to feel ready for the next stage of their education by the time they leave.
