Job overview

Wellfield Academy is an ambitious, growing and thriving school. At our school, students experience inspirational and challenging teaching, excellent pastoral care and a genuine belief that every child can succeed.

The successful candidate will join us at an incredibly exciting time for the school. We are one of just a small number of schools nationally to be chosen for the Department for Education’s Schools Rebuilding Project, which will see us move into a brand-new state of the art school in the coming years. In addition, our fantastic reputation in the local community has secured a significant growth in the number of students attending Wellfield. The number of families choosing Wellfield as their first-choice secondary school has more than trebled in the past three years and we are excited to welcome more staff into the Wellfield family as a result.

We are now looking to appoint a Deputy Headteacher to lead on Quality of Education and join us in an exciting time in our School and Trusts journey. We are looking for someone who gets who we are at Wellfield, can inspire our school community, build on the excellent practice already in place and contribute to the Trust as a whole.

As the new Deputy Headteacher – Quality of Education you will:

  • Have an effective leadership style that encourages innovation and confidence and develops a positive culture amongst staff.
  • Possess a dedication to providing students with the best education possible and have the vision, passion and proven track record in school improvement to ensure significant improvements in performance across the school.
  • Be someone with the ability to motivate and inspire students, staff and parents with a strong sense of teamwork and can lead by example, influencing decision-making and shaping policies.
  • Be aspirational, with an uncompromising commitment to improving educational outcomes for all students.

Whether you are seeking your first Deputy Headteacher post or an experienced school leader looking for the next challenge in your career, if you are committed to championing excellence for all and looking for an opportunity to support with leading an exceptional school within our Trust, we want to hear from you.
