Our school caters for children between the ages of four and eleven. As explained the new school was formed on 1st September 2009 with the amalgamation of the Infant and Junior Schools and the present Headteacher was previously the Head of the Junior School.

Our school is located in a quiet, residential area of North Petherton and we enjoy a secure, spacious and green tree filled site in extensive grounds with playgrounds for both departments and a very large field. The provision of "outside classrooms" is a school priority and we have so far established an exciting trail, a bridge across the stream (children no longer need to use the entrance road to access the field and the different departments), a sensory garden, a small orchard to grow the fruit for the children to eat at break times, an outdoor classroom with covered tables and a dipping platform to the stream that flows through the grounds. Further development plans are being worked on!

The Infant Department was purpose built in 1967 and has been well maintained and updated, most recently with the complete renewal of the roof. There are five classrooms, a spacious hall, a library, two practical areas, a large conservatory for the Foundation Stage children and a good outdoor play area.

The Junior department was first opened on 11th February 1878 catering for children of all ages. We have retained the impressive Victorian building but many changes have taken place! An extensive new building programme was completed in November 2006 with three new classrooms (we no longer have any temporary buildings on site), a new entrance area, new offices, a properly sized staff room, an extensive resource storeroom and a new hall. The new wing and the new hall both have disabled access and disabled toilet facilities.

The school is well resourced with interactive whiteboards in all the classrooms and three networked computers in each of the junior classrooms. The Infant department benefits from a mobile ICT learning system sufficient for a whole class with 32 laptop computers. In the Junior Department the old hall has been turned into a computer suite and library. The computer suite has 24 networked computers, an interactive whiteboard and a scanner. This suite allows a whole class to work together on the computers and ICT is used across the curriculum. There are digital cameras in each classroom and video cameras for the children to use. There are libraries on both sites which have been recently refurbished. The new junior hall also has a networked computer and projector and screen and staging for pupil productions across the school. In total there are 38 computers on the Infant site and 45 computers on the Junior site for the children to use which is an excellent ratio of 1 computer to 3.8 children.
