Job overview

Waltham Forest College is one of the most successful education and skills providers in the country, as evidenced in the Outstanding Ofsted grade that it was awarded earlier this year. Embedded as an impactful Anchor Institution in the local area, the college has an income of around £35m, a broad offer and a relentless focus on students and outstanding teaching, learning and support.

Our ongoing journey of growth and transformation over the last few years has brought about impressive successes in our outcomes and an aspirational culture with a passionate, committed workforce. Our financial health is also rated as Outstanding, we have delivered significant year on year growth in income and we have exciting capital projects underway to further enhance our innovative facilities. We have achieved the Mayor of London’s quality kitemarks for six key areas, while our recent college-wide surveys show excellent satisfaction rates from both students and staff alike.

We are seeking a Deputy Principal Curriculum and Quality who will play a key role in driving the overall culture, ethos and strategic direction of the organisation, providing inspirational strategic and operational leadership to enable the college to deliver its mission and values. Key to success will be ensuring the college maintains its current high standards, while continually championing innovation, high grades and an entrepreneurial focus. The successful candidate will harness the strengths of our talented staff and provide impactful leadership, ambitious planning and clear direction for teaching, learning, assessment and curriculum within an employer-led, high-performing environment.

The Deputy Principal has a high level of influence across every aspect of the organisation and key strategic input into its future journey. Due to the college's strength and high profile, there is ample opportunity to get involved in exciting projects with key sector stakeholders, while ensuring the college continues to go from strength to strength.

Our successful candidate will have a robust track record in curriculum and quality leadership within Further Education, with experience of leading teams to deliver high outcomes. Our values are important to us, so we will welcome an individual with a collaborative, inclusive approach, along with a solutions-focused mind-set and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced curriculum and quality leader to work with a committed leadership team to drive forward plans for the next stages of our journey at Waltham Forest College.
