Job overview
We are a school that values diversity and individual contribution, supporting and encouraging staff to pursue their interests and achieve their ambitions.
This is an exciting time for the Foundation Office as 2024 marks our 400th anniversary – a once in a lifetime milestone - as well as the close of our sector-leading Inspiring Minds campaign. Under the direction of the Database & Finance Manager, and working closely with several members of the Foundation Office team, you will help with all aspects of fundraising operations. This position will give you an in-depth understanding of development and fundraising in education. It’s a brilliant opportunity for a recent graduate or someone relatively new to the fundraising sector.
This is full-time role working 37.5 hours a week during term-time, plus INSED, plus 2 weeks, which is 37 weeks per year.
This is currently a full-time role; however, applications will also be considered for those preferring to work a four-day week.
To apply, and find out more about the school and our attractive staff benefits package, please visit our website and view the section “Join our Team”.
Closing date for applications: 9:00am on Wednesday 23 October 2024.
Interviews will be held on 30 October 2024.
Diversity – The School is fully committed to the principles of equal opportunity, diversity and inclusion. We have an established and representative staff Equality and Diversity Board to help drive forward positive change. A further Equality and Diversity Committee has recently been formed from our student population.
We are committed to attracting and retaining the very best staff, ensuring that our staff body reflects the diversity of our students and local community. Acknowledging a lack of ethnic diversity within our teaching community, we particularly encourage applications from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) candidates for this role. All appointments will be made on merit, following a fair and transparent process. In line with the Equality Act 2010, however, the School may employ positive action where diverse candidates can demonstrate their ability to perform the role equally well.
The School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All posts are subject to an enhanced DBS check, online checks and receipt of two satisfactory references.
About Latymer Upper School
Welcome to Latymer Upper School. We are a vibrant, forward-thinking and co-educational independent secondary school in West London. Established in 1624 by the generosity of Edward Latymer and located in Hammersmith since 1895, the School upholds its founding principles of generosity and educational excellence.
With around 1,400 students, the success of our Inspiring Minds campaign started by the Latymer Foundation in 2017, means that by the end of our 400th year, we will be in a position to offer one in four students a bursary.
Latymer Upper School is at the forefront of education reform and from 2027, our bespoke Middle School curriculum will replace traditional GCSEs. This innovative approach will develop critical thinking, resilience, collaboration, creativity and problem-solving, preparing them for the independent learning required at A-level. Our students go on to secure places at prestigious universities including Oxbridge, North American and European institutions and are well set for success in the modern workplace.
We foster a welcoming and cosmopolitan environment and our commitment to individualised education ensures that Latymerians are not only highly academic but also well-rounded, grounded individuals.
We are also really proud to have teachers who help raise generations of young people to be passionate about their learning, students who support each other and a network of loyal Latymerian alumni.
