Job overview

Director of Maths

Salary – L3 – L7: £50,304 - £55,625 (negotiable depending on experience)

Closing Date: 9am 2nd February 2024

We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity to an excellent head of maths or highly experienced second in department who can demonstrate strong maths leadership and student progress outcomes.

If you are an enthusiastic inspiring leader of maths exploring your next opportunity we are exactly the supportive and ambitious school that you are looking for! If you are thinking ‘I would love to continue leading maths but with a wider whole school focus as well’ or ‘I would really love to lead maths in a school and be able to support other schools’ I would be delighted to talk to you about our school and this role.

It is a very exciting to join Bridgemary School. Our very recent (Dec 2023) OFSTED inspection recognised the “inclusive and calm culture…underpinned by mutual respect”. They also reflected that “leaders are very mindful of staff well-being and workload. Staff feel valued and are extremely proud to work at the school.” This accurate description gives us now the sound school climate and platform to rapidly improve student academic progress and outcomes supported ably by our Trust, TKAT, who provide direct support and facilitate regional and national networking opportunities.

Our new Director of Maths will be pivotal in driving the next phase of our improvement journey; the refinement of a highly effective curriculum delivered through inspiring and precision teaching.

The Director of Maths role comes with the opportunity to either work more widely on a whole school responsibility or to work across TKAT Trust schools supporting the leadership of maths. The role can be tailored to the skills of the successful candidate.

Does this whet your appetite? If so, don’t be an ‘if only’ in a few weeks' time. Contact me so we can have an exploratory talk and to arrange for you to come and see us in action.

TKAT is one of the largest Multi-Academy Trusts in the South of England with over 45 Primary and Secondary Academies in the TKAT Family. For further information about TKAT please visit http://www.tkat.org/

TKAT is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Offers of employment will be subject to the full Safer Recruitment process, including an enhanced disclosure and barring service check.

TKAT is committed to inclusion, diversity and equality of opportunity by encouraging and welcoming differences, listening to individual experiences, aspirations and accomplishments and learning how to grow better together. We welcome applications from all suitable candidates, regardless of any protected characteristic: this includes applicants wishing to work flexibly.

Should you be selected and invited to interview please let us know if you require us to adapt the interview environment. If we can accommodate practical workplace adjustments to assist we will.
