Job overview
Following the appointment of the current post holder to a Secondary School position, Thorngrove is looking for a dynamic and passionate individual to take on the role of Director of Sport and Co-Curricular. The post holder will support the Headmaster and Senior Leadership Team in ensuring the delivery of outstanding sporting opportunities and a diverse enrichment curriculum to the pupils.
The successful candidate will lead the Sports and PE department where the emphasis is very much on enjoyment, participation and skill development, whilst seeking to extend the skills and talents of all individuals, and ensuring those pupils in our top sports teams go on to achieve to the highest standards.
Alongside this, the successful candidate will lead and further develop the school's very successful Enrichment Programme, engaging staff, pupils and parents in this key element of what Thorngrove has to offer, which will provide the pupils with unique and inspiring extra-curricular opportunities.

About Thorngrove School
Thorngrove School is a co-educational independent preparatory school in Highclere, near Newbury in Berkshire, for 2 1/2 -13 year olds. It accommodates approximately 220 pupils.
Thorngrove School was founded in 1988 by Nick and Connie Broughton. They wanted to create an establishment that provided for all children, whatever their abilities. Recent developments have included a 3 lane cricket net facility and personal devices for all children in Year 3 up. The school will be celebrating its 35th anniversary in 2023.
