Uppingham School seeks a friendly and approachable individual with supervisory and cleaning experience to play a key role leading the Domestic Services team.

You will lead a team of Domestic Cleaners to provide a home from home for pupils and maintain the cleanliness and housekeeping standards within the boarding house.

Working under the direction and guidance of an Assistant Cleaning Manager, your responsibilities will include:

·      Cleaning boarding houses and central buildings to the highest standards

·      Organising cleaning schedules for cleaning staff to accomplish

·      Providing induction training for new staff members

·      Undertaking checks of cleaning standards in work areas of the house

·      Monitoring and controlling cleaning product stock

·      Leading on laundry services in agreement with the Matron and Houseparent

·      Supporting and organising domestic staff

You will need knowledge of cleaning procedures and be able to work with minimum supervision. You will also need the ability to organise your workload and meet deadlines.

The ability to deal with colleagues, pupils and parents in a pleasant and helpful manner is equally important.

The working hours are 8.30am – 2.25pm, 6 days per week, on a rota basis.

In addition, house staff are required to work additional hours at school events throughout the year.
