Job overview

We are looking for an experienced Technician to work in partnership with class teachers, as directed, to support learning in line with the national curriculum, codes of practice and academy policies and procedures.


You will provide technical and administrative support, practical assistance and advice where required to staff and students of the Academy working flexibly across the Art and Design department.


You will support the teaching and learning of Art and Design Technology, by preparing practical activities within safety guidelines. To check, prepare and set up equipment, materials and machinery as required. To order and prepare resources.

·      Grade A-C, GCSE or equivalent qualifications in English, Maths and Science.

·      A- Level in DT or Science.

·      Graduate with a good degree in a DT related subject.

·      Excellent subject knowledge

·   ·      Basic Health & Safety practices and understanding of safety in a school/ classroom.

·      Knowledge of equipment 

Experience of teaching DT in a variety of material areas to students at KS3/4
