Job overview
We are looking to appoint a dynamic person [Teacher/TA/HLTA] as our EAL Coordinator. This role is vital to continue our improvement. It will include oversight for supporting and tracking the progress of our EAL pupils. We are looking to appoint a candidate who we believe has the capacity to make an exceptional contribution to EAL provision across the whole school and enable us to achieve our goal of all students leaving Heston having made real and substantial progress in their learning.
The successful candidate will manage two members of staff as part of the EAL team and work closely with other curriculum areas to continue to develop and improve learning in students who use English as an additional language.
Heston Community School is a high performing, vibrant, happy and oversubscribed school where ‘students behave well and the vast majority are keen learners’ [Ofsted, 2019]. We are now seeking to appoint an individual who shares our passion for learning and our determination to change lives through the education we provide.
We believe that schools 'can' and 'do' make a difference and change lives and that the most important resource in any school is its staff. The success of Heston Community School is due to our dedicated, committed, experienced and enthusiastic staff.

Ofsted
“Pupils, and learners in the sixth form, mix well together and conduct themselves in an orderly and mature way. The introduction, in September 2015, of a programme to encourage pupils to challenge themselves and work hard, has been welcomed. Teachers provide a range of activities and pupils were keen to explain to inspectors how they stretch themselves by the choices they make. Pupils enjoy coming to school, work hard and have excellent relationships with their teachers.”
