Job overview

We are seeking an experienced early years/kindergarten teacher to join our growing school in Tirana as soon as possible!

As an early years teacher, you play a crucial role in the development of young children, typically ranging from ages 3 to 6. Your primary responsibilities involve creating a nurturing and stimulating environment where children can learn and grow both academically and socially. Here's a breakdown of what your job description might include:

  1. Curriculum Development: Designing and implementing age-appropriate lesson plans and activities that align with early childhood education standards and promote holistic development (cognitive, physical, social, and emotional).
  2. Classroom Management: Establishing routines and maintaining a safe, orderly, and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning. This involves managing behavior effectively and fostering positive relationships among students.
  3. Individualized Instruction: Recognizing and catering to the diverse needs, interests, and learning styles of each child in your care. Providing support and differentiated instruction as needed to ensure all students are making progress.
  4. Assessment and Progress Monitoring: Observing and assessing children's development and learning outcomes through various methods such as anecdotal records, portfolios, and formal assessments. Using this information to track progress, identify areas for improvement, and communicate with parents or guardians.
  5. Parent Communication: Building strong partnerships with families by maintaining open and regular communication. Providing updates on children's progress, discussing concerns or achievements, and involving parents in their child's learning journey.
  6. Collaboration: Working collaboratively with other early years educators, support staff, and professionals (e.g., speech therapists, psychologists) to support the overall development and well-being of children.
  7. Professional Development: Engaging in continuous learning and professional development opportunities to stay updated on best practices, new research, and developments in the field of early childhood education.
  8. Health and Safety: Ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of all children in your care by following health and safety protocols, maintaining cleanliness, and addressing any potential hazards.
  9. Cultural Competence and Diversity: Creating an inclusive and culturally responsive classroom environment that respects and celebrates diversity. Incorporating culturally relevant materials and practices into your teaching.
  10. Advocacy: Serving as an advocate for early childhood education and the needs of young children within the school community and beyond. This may involve participating in advocacy efforts, promoting policies that support early childhood education, and raising awareness about the importance of early learning.

Overall, being an early years teacher requires patience, creativity, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with young children to lay the foundation for their future success in school and life.

Candidates should note that English is our language of instruction, so fluency is required.
