Job overview

The King’s School, Canterbury, Vattanacville (KSV) is the second partnership school of The King’s School, Canterbury, overseas. https://www.kings-school.co.uk/about/ Located in Phnom Penh, Cambodia’s vibrant capital, the school is now in its second year and is opening second classes in pre-nursery and nursery. KSV has two sites. The beautifully purpose designed City Campus is located in the Vattanac Lifestyle Cube, a LEED award winning new building. The stunning main school campus, designed by UK architects Walters & Cohen, is already under construction just to the south of the city. The main campus is an integral part of the new Vattanacville urban development space which fuses the cosmopolitan aspects of Cambodian urban life with the luxury of breathing room.

The School is divided into three sections, with an Early Years (Pre-Nursery-Reception), Prep School (Years 1-8) and Senior School (9-13). The curriculum combines our focus on the King’s values with the best of English and international curriculums. The youngest children follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum. From year 1, the English National Curriculum (ENC) is the backbone for mathematics and literacy, with strong influenced by the Cambridge Primary and Lower Secondary programme. From year 6, children are taught by subject teachers, the curriculum again based on the ENC but enhanced and contextually appropriate. This prepares them for the study of IGCSE examinations and their final years in the sixth form before university study.

The King’s School, Canterbury, Vattanacville aims to be the best international school in Cambodia. The founding leadership team have experience of working in outstanding start-up schools and are now looking for talented professionals to join them as part of this exciting project. Academic success, progress and attainment, will be critical for KSV but it is only one part of our ambition for our students. We firmly believe that education should be about the whole child, with the co-curriculum as important as the core. Holistic, values based education is what we are seeking to deliver to the highest standards, such that our students have the best possible opportunities as they progress into adult life.

We are looking to appoint resilient, dynamic, PGCE or equivalent qualified primary/Prep classroom teachers (Pre-nursery–Year 4) who would relish the opportunity to be a part of our team. We will work hard to deliver the exceptional international education for Phnom Penh and Cambodia, and we need excellent teachers to join us on that mission. In addition to an exciting challenge and immense job satisfaction, staff will receive a competitive remuneration and benefits package.

We welcome applications from a diverse range of experiences, backgrounds and perspectives. We strongly encourage early application and reserve the right to appoint before the closing date.
